These postings show how girls think that information
technology will grow and evolve in the future. The ideas
are based on their study in four areas: wireless sensors,
nanotechnology, programming for the Internet, and disability
assistance.
The heart of the “Girls are I.T.” program is a school bus outfitted as a mobile computer lab with 12 laptop stations. The bus features four 2-hour projects that explore programming, nanotechnology, robotics, and assisitive technology.
At the end of each project the girls are asked to imagine
how this technology can make the world a better place in the future.
